The Australian Rugby Foundation are raising funds for Indigenous Rugby Programs run by Rugby Australia and Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development Team.
Investment will be driven into programs such as the Rugby Australia's Deadly 7s program, a version of Rugby Australia Get into Rugby, that will be rolled out to schools across Australia with high Indigenous student participation that utilises non-contact Rugby Sevens for a range of health and education outcomes. It will also assist the Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development team to provide competitions such as the National Indigenous Youth 7s Competition for U17 boys and girls.
This project will ensure the continuation & growth of Rugby into more regions across Australia and supports the upskilling of local indigenous community. Investment will ensure the game of rugby is introduced to young Indigenous men and women across Australia and assist in the delivery of Deadly 7s programs across multiple school terms to increase Indigenous student rates from Primary to Secondary education.
