About the project
My name is Adam Knight, I run a swim school called Angel Swim London based in the UK. I will be completingĀ an Ironman Triathlon, one of the toughest endurance events on the planet on Saturday 7th November in Portugal. This consists of a 3.8km Swim, a 180km Bike and a 42.2 km Marathon Run.
In doing this event, it is my mission to raise $10,000 for an incredible charity called Autism Swim. Those with Autism are 160 times more likely to to die from drowning than neurotypical children. Autism Swim provides help and support through their innovative onlineĀ training programme for swim teachers to help them make their lessons more inclusive as well as providing swim lessons around the world for those with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).
As a swimming teacher I have seen first hand how swimming can help children with ASD not just learn a lifesaving skill, but help them destress and regulate their mood. I believeĀ so strongly in Autism Swim I have trained my entire staff with their programme. If we reach our target we will be able to train 100 more swim teachers who can then impact the lives of hundreds of children with Autism.
Any donation of $2 or more is tax-deductible. Please donate today.
