Hi, my name is Ayrton Filippi and I am 16yrs old from Bendigo Victoria Australia

I’m very passionate about Motorsport, and have had aspirations of being a professional race car driver for as long as I can remember.

I’m currently working hard towards my goals on a limited budget, and in the past used older equipment, travelled to events with just my mum towing the race car, and myself and some mates working on the car as my dad has been too unwell to travel.

I have been personally approaching businesses to sponsor me since the age of 10, and although I have many loyal partners who currently support me unfortunately it’s very costly to compete at higher levels and categories in Motorsport and I currently only have some of the budget I need.

My journey in Motorsport so far

I have been racing for the past 9yrs, starting in sprint karts from 8-12yrs, superkarts at 12-13yrs and Formula Vee and cars in motorkhana’s , Khanacross and track days from 13yrs to now with successful results along the way.

I have won around 90 trophies, state rounds and championships, broke track records, and most recently was the Bendigo car club junior champion for the season 2022/23.

What I have done to progress in motorsport and work towards my goals

  • Learnt mechanical aptitude from my dad to work on my own race cars
  • Started rebuilding and got on track my first Formula Vee racecar at 12yrs old that was bought in pieces, and started racing it at 14yrs old in the Victorian State circuit racing competition.
  • I have worked on having good communication, presentation and public speaking skills for the media side of racing, and I’m studying media and engineering in school doing year 11.
  • I currently host my own Podcast I started 3yrs ago called Grassroots Racer’ where I interview people involved in all forms of Motorsport and different roles, so they can share their Motorsport experiences and stories. Have done nearly 150 episodes.
  • I have co hosted a local Bendigo radio show called ‘ In the Pits’ for the past couple of years.
  • Increased my fitness training away from the track
  • Regularly practice on my home made simulator and compete in e-sports events
  • I have demonstrated I am able to drive a variety of different cars at new tracks on different tracks surfaces and still be competitive.

About Formula RX8

In 2024 I will be competing in Australia’s only not for profit, nationally televised one make MAZDA RX8 race series called Formula RX8, as part of the Hi Tec Super Series which can be viewed on KAYO, Foxtel, SBS sports & speedweek

I will be racing at Qld Raceway/ Sydney motorsport park NSW/  Morgan park raceway QLD / The Bend Motorsport park SA / One raceway NSW, with the last round being part of the Production car series at Bathurst NSW.

With the help of my parents and current sponsors I have been able to purchase a car for the series, and I’m working towards having it compliant by the first round at Sydney Motorsport Park in April.

How can you help?

I was recently asked by some of my followers/supporters how they can help with my Motorsport journey as I continue to have ongoing expenses such as entry fees, new tyres each round, fuel costs, travel & accommodation, car transportation, equipment, pit crew support, licence fees, gym membership, additions to the car so it’s compliant to the category, and costs to get a new livery ( stickers) on the car.

This platform is designed for anyone to make a donation and receive a tax deductible receipt so your contribution can not only help my racing season in 2024, but also allows you to invest in my sporting future so I can continue to pursue my goals and dreams of racing professionally.

If you can’t help with a money donation here are some ways you can help me for free.

  • Share this fundraising campaign on social media
  • Like, Share and Subscribe to my YouTube channel, Facebook & Instagram accounts by searching Filippin Mad Motorsport or subscribe & review my podcast ‘ Grassroots Racer’ on Spotify.
  • Provide me with business contacts who I can speak to about supporting my racing

Thanks so much to everyone who currently supports my racing, and the wonderful partners who have got me this far, and with your generosity I look forward to sharing updates with you on how I am progressing and eventually I can hopefully move up in the Motorsport ranks to achieve my goal to race professionally.

Testimonials

Mike Jacobson - Spyder automobiles - Classic Porsche servicing

I have known Ayrton since his very early days in Go Karts which was nearly 8 years ago.

During that time, he has always shown a maturity beyond his years towards his approach to racing from his driving to analyzing his performance and being able to adjust and improve his performance.

He has always taken instruction well and put that into practice to improve himself personally or in his performance.

His determination and focus during the time I have known him have never diminished and, if anything, only intensified! This has been rewarded by many great results during his Karting days where he would constantly be on the podium and usually winning, and he has set lap records along the way in a variety of classes.

All this has been done while racing, attending school, and his work on Bendigo radio’s In the Pits weekly show!

Ayrton is a young man who has the qualities and confidence that are well beyond his years, this has been proven in part with his work with representing the supporters he has had over the years, and more recently with his Grassroots Racer You tube channel which is testament to his commitment and focus!

“ Pedders Racing”

"Ayrton, and his family team at Filippin Mad Motorsport, are truly dedicated to the sport, to seeking success, and to making communication and achievement in a professional, self-driven, genuine and community-minded manner.

Pedders proudly joined Ayrton's efforts, having seen the passion for motoring and learning both with technical and academic education.

I was once told by a motorsport legend of rally that there are seven factors of success in the sport, driving skill is just one. Ayrton and his family are committed to being, and to providing more. We all start small, but without making that start yourself, there is no future.

Well-spoken, genuinely interested in those who support him, Ayrton is one whose passion and persistence needs to be heard, recognised and celebrated."
