Ayva Soteriou is a passionate and dedicated 15 year old athlete from Taya Taekwondo in NSW.

Since Ayva was 5 years old, Taekwondo has been an integral part of her life. Those who know Ayva know that she has lived and breathed the sport, fuelled by the dream of one day representing Australia at the Olympic Games!

Through the support and guidance of her incredible coaches, hard work and pure determination, Ayva achieved a significant milestone in her journey. On the 29th of June she fought her way to secure a spot on the Australian National Team, becoming one of the Nations top 20 junior athletes!

Ayva has earned the honour of representing Australia at the upcoming World Junior Championships in Chuncheon, Korea in October 2024.

The World Junior Championships will bring together the best junior athletes from around the world, providing Ayva with an unparalleled opportunity to test her abilities, gain invaluable experience, showcase her talent and make her mark on the international stage.

Unfortunately Taekwondo Athletes lack sufficient funding opportunities which places a significant burden on aspiring athletes like Ayva. From covering travel expenses to accommodation, training fees, competition fees and the cost of uniforms the financial demands are substantial.
