Bilal Atay (13 years old) is very proud of his achievement of receiving a gold medal in the World Selections, he is now on the pathway of representing Team Australia in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina for the World Cadet Championships along with his teammates from Halls Taekwondo.
Last year Bilal was also selected to compete for the 2022 World Cadet Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria but unfortunately Bilal's dreams came to a pause as he was not able to compete due to an injury. This only motivated Bilal to train harder to earn his spot for this years Championships.
He has been training for 6 years, he is currently on his 3rd dan black belt. He has physically and mentally trained hard to get to be able to compete internationally. However, Australian Taekwondo informed us that they will not be helping with the expenses for the trip, we were told to reach out to the community to give Bilal a helping hand so he can have the opportunity to compete internationally to not only represent Australia but to also represent himself.
