About the project

PLEASE HELP US TO UPGRADE OUR FRONT WALLS

The Blue Gum Squash Club (Inc) operates out of Squashworld Brentwood, and promotes is committed to the development and promotion of squash across the lifespan. The club boast and increasing membership base, a solid junior program, in-house and WA Squash activities, and an active Masters squash programme.

Due to the age of the courts, water damage, and other factors, the front walls have deteriorated and are in need of replacement. Ongoing repairs and maintenance haven’t worked so the only option is to replace the front walls. This is essential for the ongoing growth of the sport, and the viability of the centre. We have one of the few remaining facilities left in Perth, and we want it to be the best it can be for members and the wider community.

The plan to replace the front walls has been developed in collaboration with key stakeholders, including Squashworld Brentwood, Blue Gum Park Tennis Club, City of Melville, the Government of Western Australia, and the Federal Government. The cost to upgrade the front walls to glass is $25,000 per court. The club has been planning for this for some time and we are aiming to raise $50,000 towards the costs. We have $15,000 put aside already for this project.

The completion of this project will have a significant effect for the squash and wider community. Our facility will be future proofed for years to come, the club will have contemporary facilities to continue to develop the sport, and the community will benefit from an updated facility that is open to all, from juniors to seniors, to masters.

To enable us to complete this project in the next financial year (2023-24), we need to raise a further $35,000, so we are pushing the next three months as a major fundraising event to see if we can achieve this goal.

Please dig deep and make a donation that you are able to afford to support our club to upgrade our facilities. We need your help, and your support will make this happen.
