The development of an elite environment and pathway for aspiring female footballers.

The success and popularity of this year’s inaugural AFLW competition shows how much interest there is in women playing our national game. It’s our mission to provide a unique pathway for Women playing Australian Rules Football from grassroots to elite by introducing a Queensland Talent Academy in line with our Men’s Academy.

Our commitment to Women’s Football is not just at a participation level. Gender diversity at the top of organisations makes them more effective. There is a wide and varied pool of talented women actively seeking roles in sport and we will support them to work and volunteer in AFL and to thrive – so AFL thrives too.

We want equal opportunities for women and girls, in sport, and in society as a whole. By increasing the visibility of women’s sport, in the media and in everyday life, we will inspire people to play their part at every level and make participation in AFL and sport as a whole normal for women and girls.
