About the project
Help us deliver new, five-lane cricket nets in 2023 at the State High Sporting Fields on Fursden Road!
One of the largest schools in Australia, Brisbane State High School has a highly regarded sports pedigree, recognised for producing national and international sporting stars, including cricketers Ian Healy, Marnus Labuschagne and Michael Kasprowicz. To continue to build its legacy in the finest traditions of public-school excellence, State High plans to develop its sporting facilities at Fursden Road.
The first stages of the Masterplan have now been actioned with seed funding from the Department of Education to build multi-use court facilities and Queensland Cricket to develop training nets. The school has also recently invested in a new turf pitch to support the immediate need for our own school teams and local cricket clubs. These facilities are being used by our cricket programs during the GPS and QGSS seasons and by local cricket clubs.
The school and the P&C Association's Cricket Subcommittee is now raising funds to deliver the five-lane cricket nets to continue to improve facilities for players at the Fursden Road Sporting Complex. Your support is greatly appreciated!
