Visit websiteBusselton Swimming Club has been part of the community for over 65 years and has more than 100 members, ranging from juniors through to senior swimmers. The club was established in 1956, at the iconic Busselton Jetty. At its heart, we have always had a deep sense of community and family involvement. Our club is also committed to encouraging participation in the sport of swimming and to promote a love of swimming for all for life.
We are very fortunate to have our head coach Andrew Sexton support us in a way that drives our goals and passion for swimming. Andrew is a former elite swimmer who came within a whisker of competing at the Sydney Olympics for South Africa, but due to injury, he was not able to participate. Andrew's elite background and passion for coaching has been a key driver in our club outperforming many larger and better resourced clubs. Andrew believes in the old-fashioned concepts of hard work and persistence. This is evident in the performance and results of all our members in the past 12 months namely:
- Record club enrolments with several swimmers joining from other clubs as the high level of performance is recognised throughout the region.
- Multiple gold, silver and bronze medals at the country championships held at HBF Stadium in January.
- Several gold, silver and bronze medals at the Western Australian short and long course championships.
- 4 swimmers qualifying for and competing in the open water national championships held in Busselton.
- 8 national qualified swimmers in 2023, who travelled to the Australian Age National Swimming Championship held in Brisbane, Queensland.
Our vision is to ignite and enable our swimmers to reach their goals and dreams – in the water and in life! To do this, as a regional club, our goal is to raise $30,000 for our National Team and our coach, who will be travelling to the prestigious Gold Coast Aquatic Centre, in Brisbane, Queensland to compete at the Australian Age National Championships 2024 from 6-14 April 2024. These funds will contribute to their expenses that includes flights, accommodation, kit, and entries.
For any businesses that contribute to achieving our goal, we can offer:
- The satisfaction that you are contributing to highly motivated amateur sporting club that is
- competing against the biggest clubs in Australia;
- Updates to all our members highlighting and thanking the local businesses who have contributed to our cause;
