I'm Charles Allen Toyn.

Sailing has been a huge part of my life since I was 10.

From my first regattas as a junior to now competing in national and international events, the sport has shaped who I am — teaching me resilience, focus, and the drive to constantly push for more.

Now, as I transition into senior competition, I’m stepping up in more ways than just performance.

I’m taking on greater responsibility for my campaign — including planning, budgeting, and fundraising to support my 2025 international season.

This year, I’ve set my sights on four key events overseas:

• Kiel Week (Germany) – ILCA 6 and ILCA 7
• Cowes Week (England) – aiming to sail keelboats with top crews
• Wales ILCA 7 Nationals (UK)
• ILCA 7 Under-21 World Championships (Ireland, UK)
• Additional training and local racing to stay race-fit

I'll be competing from June 18 to August 29, training and racing against some of the best young sailors from around the world.

This overseas experience is critical — not just for results now, but for building the skills and mindset I’ll need to reach my long-term goals in professional and Olympic-class sailing.

To make this campaign possible, I’m fundraising to cover:

• Travel costs
• Regatta entry fees
• Flights, ferries, and car hire
• Equipment transport and repairs
• Coaching and training camps
• Living expenses while abroad

The costs of the whole trip is $15,000 however I am asking for your support for half of this. My Mum is able to support me for some of the costs and I am working this year and able to contribute too. But $15,000 is a great deal when I only have casual work as an 18 year old, supported by a single parent only.

Every donation is tax-deductible through the Australian Sports Foundation, and every contribution — big or small — will have a real impact.
