16-Year-Old Coastie Chloe has fought against the odds to represent Australia,
You can help her take the final step!
Chloe Karsten is a fighter – born with a heart defect, cerebral palsy and legally blind, she had four open heart surgeries before her fifth birthday and lost her hearing at the age of three.
Despite these major challenges, Chloe has achieved more in her 16 years than most people do in a lifetime, and now, through hard work and determination has been selected to represent Australia in in the Virtus Equestrian Championships which will be held in the UK in July.
Chloe started riding at the age of six with Riding for the Disabled and fell in love with the sport, quickly developing into a successful and competitive rider and deciding early on she wanted to represent Australia in dressage.
Chloe is a rising star, and she has climbed the ranks in the sport, becoming a four-time champion in the RDA NSW State Championships and in May 2024, was selected as the youngest on the team to represent Australia in the Virtus Equestrian Championships.
Chloe and her family have sacrificed so much to get her here, and she deserves and would love to take this opportunity, but as a young and emerging athlete, Chloe and her family have to cover the entire cost of flights, accommodation and other expenses – which will cost up to $18k.
It’s a big ask, but you can help! Through your generosity you can help Chloe take that final step to achieving her dreams, sending her to compete for Australia and showing all kids born with significant disabilities that they can achieve theirs too.
