Hi. I am Daniel and I have the honour and privilege to be representing Australia at the upcoming U21 ILCA World Championships in Vilamoura, Portugal. Being able to compete against the best Laser sailors in the world at this event will be an enormous and valuable experience for me, not to mention the opportunity it will give me to further refine my technical skills and test myself on the world stage. This event is an important stepping stone towards my goals within the Sailing High Performance Pathway Programs and my journey towards one day representing Australia at the Olympic Games.

Sailing is my passion and I have worked extremely hard over the past 6 seasons to reach this point. I train regularly throughout the week (both in the gym and on water) and race on weekends. I also compete at several state and national based regattas, and some recent performances in just this season past include a 1st place (U21 - ILCA 7) at the 2021 NSW/ACT State Championships, 1st place (ILCA 7) at 2021 Sail Sydney, 1st place (ILCA 7) at the 2022 NSW/ACT Metropolitan Championships and 1st place at the 2022 East Coast Championships.

Of course, embarking on a journey to the World Championships comes at a significant cost with airfares, accommodation, coaching fees, boat charter, and equipment being just some of the considerations.
