For the last nine months I have been sailing with Tess Lloyd who represented Australia in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Tess and I are one of only 3 teams that have been selected to be a part of the Australian Squad in the 49erFX fleet. We are very fortunate to have Victor Paya as our coach who successfully coached the Spanish 49erFX team to 4th place at the 2020 Olympic Games. He hopes to go one or more better next time!

The preparations for the 2024 Olympic Games have already begun when we competed on the European circuit last year. The 2022 European Championships were held in Aarhus, Denmark where we were the highest placed Australian 49erFX female crew and overall 15th out of a fleet of 70 boats. In late December 2022, we placed 1st in the Sail Sydney regatta and again in early January achieved 3rd place in the Sail Melbourne. Both regattas are high profile events in the sailing calendar.

After a long summer in Australia, we will begin our European Circuit in late March. We will compete at the Princesa Sofia Regatta (Palma, Spain) and in the Hyeres Regatta (Hyeres, France). Both of these events are important qualifiers for the Olympic Test Event held in Marseille, France late July.
