Back in March I was ecstatic to be selected in the Australian U23 double scull which is set to compete at the World Championships in St Catharines, Canada in August.
This has been a long-term goal of mine and has taken a few years to come to fruition. It has required me to complete 3-4 sessions a day, or around 5 hours of training daily, for the past 2-3 years.
Selection has also required relocating to Adelaide for the months leading up to the world championships so I can train with my double partner and coach - who are both based in Adelaide.
While it’s a great honour to represent Australia it does come at a cost. As an amateur sport the seat fee is unfunded and is $8,000 plus the additional costs of travel and living away from home.
Any donations would be truly appreciated and are fully tax deductible.
