Visit websiteJunior sailing clubs of Drummoyne, Lane Cove and Vaucluse are participating in the National Sabot Championships in Maryborough, QLD to be held from 27/12/23 to 3/1/24.
Approximately 25 kids aged between 8yo and 14yo are planning to participate in the regatta providing there is a shipping container available to transport their boats and a club's safety support boat to rescue any sailors who get into trouble. The sailing conditions in Hervey Bay, Queensland can be very windy with large swells which makes it imperative to have a safety support boat available for rescues. The cost of a 40ft container to transport the sabot boats, equipment and club support boat is $16,620.00 from Budget Self Pack Containers Company.
