The Drummoyne Sailing club dynamic duo of Olivia Price and Evie Haseldine have surged out of the blocks on their Path to Paris as the newest 49erFX team in the Women’s Skiff class, campaigning for Gold at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Both hailing from childhood sailing days nurtured at DSC, Olivia and Evie reconnected in October 2021, originally with Evie seeking out mentorship from Olivia, the youngest ever Australian female Olympic sailing medallist, having won silver in the London Olympics aged just 19.

Evie’s Olympic dream was sparked competing at the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires in 2018 aged 14. When the two got together for a bit of hands-on mentoring, Olivia realised she had found her catalyst to return to competition – a like-minded young athlete with superb skills and bursting with energy, determination and dedication.

Team 44 was formed, comprising the youngest member of the Australian squad, Evie at age 18 and the oldest Olivia at just 29 years-old who brought the experience and wisdom of several world podiums and her reignited determination to go one better – for Olympic gold.

They have launched their campaign and since been competing and proving their class in global competitions as they head to the World Sailing Championships in Canada at the end of August this year on the quest to sail for Australia in the Olympic squad.

They have rapidly proven a formidable force against more experienced teams taking out a bronze medal in their first podium together at the Allianz World Cup Event in Holland in June this year.

Olivia and Evie have set aside their career and study programs to dedicate themselves 100 percent to their goal and to do Drummoyne Sailing Club and Australia proud. You can show your support by donating and getting behind their campaign!
