Acrobatic Gymnasts Dylan Findley (24) and Ava Goodwin (16) are members of the Australian Team and train at Skylark Sports in a Senior International Mixed Pair. Over the last few years, they have worked relentlessly towards the goal of representing Australia on the international stage. After a long selection process in 2023, the pair has qualified for the 2024 FIG World Championships, to represent Australia in the Senior Mixed-Pair division – a first for any group from Skylark. They train under the guidance of Coach Jasmin Meaker. World Championships will take place from the 19th-22nd September 2024 in the city of Guimarães, Portugal.

In April 2023, Dylan & Ava competed in Belgium at the Flanders International Acro Cup (FIAC), where they placed third in finals and brought home a Bronze Medal for their efforts. Throughout the year the pair competed consistently, fighting for a spot on the National Squad.

During November of 2023, the pair competed at the World Trials Event in Sydney and after a lengthy selection process have qualified for a spot on the Australian Team to represent their country internationally at both the 2024 FIG World Championships, and FIG World Cup series. As preparation for World Championships, the pair will also be competing internationally in May at the FIG World Cup (Portugal) representing Australia.

Since being grouped in 2021, the pair has shown constant discipline, commitment, and dedication to their sport, attesting to some of the following milestones:

  • Gymnastics Victoria High Performance Group of the Year (22’).
  • 2nd Place at 2022 Maia International Acro Cup (Portugal) .
  • 3rd Place at 2023 Flanders International Acro Cup (Belgium).
  • 2nd Place at 2023 National Championships (QLD).
  • 2023/2024 Australian Team Members
  • Qualification for 2024 FIG World Cup series & 2024 FIG World Championships.
  • Attendance of the 24’ National Training Camp at the AIS (Canberra).

These high-performance athletes must fully self-fund their sporting career as Government support is not accessible due to Acrobatics not being an Olympic sport. Your tax-deductible donations (over $2) will help contribute to their overseas travel and cover costs such as flights, accommodation, uniform, competition entry and coaches’ fees towards World Championships and World Cup. Any financial support both big and small is greatly appreciated and will assist Dylan & Ava in their journey ahead.

We would like to thank everyone for their overwhelming support thus far, and we look forward to what lies ahead! You can continue to follow our journey at our Instagram page @avadylan.acro
