My name is Elijah Wu. I am 14 years old student and gymnast.

I started training in gymnastics from the age of 6 starting in recreational gymnastics and quickly moved to the competitive program at Sydney Gymnastics Centre (SGC). Shortly after, I was identified and offered placement at Gymnastics NSW Mens High Performance Centre (GNSW HPC) and have been training at GNSW HPC since.

In my 8 years of gymnastics I have moved through the development levels with great success with several podium finishes, including state and national titles.

In the last 2 years I have achieved outstanding results:

2023:

National Champion level 8 under

National Champion Pommel Horse

National Champion Parallel Bars

National Champion High Bar

2nd Floors

2nd Rings

2nd Vault

2024:

2nd All-Around Champion level 9 under

National Champion on Floor

2nd Pommel Horse

2nd Vault

2nd Horizontal Bars

This year is the start of my Junior International journey. I am incredibly grateful that I have been selected by Gymnastics Australia to represent Australia in gymnastics at the 19th Austrian Future Cup in Linz (21/11 -23/11/2024) and the Olympic Hopes Cup in Brno, Czechia (29/11/2024 - 1/12/2024). To be selected onto the Australian Team for this event, I had to participate and demonstrate outstanding performance and consistency in results (as per the selection policy) in a few verification over the past few months. To achieve this goal I have consistently trained 6 days a week ( at times up to 26.5 hrs a week) whilst continuing my full time education.

My childhood dream of representing Australia in sports has now been undoubtedly fulfilled due to this opportunity I have been presented with, in addition to having the privilege of representing Australia at the 2023 Taekwondo World Championships in Sarajevo. Bosnia and Herzegovina.

I am extremely appreciative of my parents, coaches, team mates, friends and family for guiding and supporting me through my journey in achieving these opportunities.

I now need further support from the community to help me along my journey as these competitions are fully self funded. Your donations and financial support will help me cover costs for my flights, accommodation, Australian uniforms, competition fees and other associated cost.

I sincerely thank everyone in advance for your generosity and kind donations.
