About the project

Every four years mid-way between each Summer Olympic Games, the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) holds the major international championship for equestrian competitors. Australian riders have the opportunity of competing in:
  • the three Olympic disciplines of Dressage, Eventing and Jumping;
  • the Paralympic discipline of Dressage;
  • Carriage Driving;
  • Endurance;
  • Reigning; and
  • Vaulting.
Your donation to this program will support those riders selected in Australia’s High Performance Squad for the year leading up to the World Equestrian Games.
This program will be open for donations within two months of the conclusion of the para-equestrian events at the Paralympic Games through to the announcement of the World Equestrian Games team.
Your donation will help fund the:
  • transport of riders and horses (on average it costs between $15,000 and $18,000 to fly a horse one way to Europe/UK from Australia) to attend competitions;
  • stabling, accommodation and/or training bases in Europe/UK; and
  • participation in international-level events outside Australia.
If you want to support an individual athlete, then certain rules apply. You or your associates (e.g. your spouse or your relatives) cannot receive a direct benefit from your donation.
More information is available on whether your donation meets the terms and conditions set by the Australian Sports Foundation for tax deductible donations.
