ABOUT THE PROJECT

The aim of the FCHC Lakelands Turf Project was to build an artificial turf on land at Lakelands Reserve. The project established a new shared community and sporting facilities on Lakelands Reserve and provides opportunity for specialist hockey programs at the adjacent secondary school and nearby primary schools. The project provided FCHC with first class hockey facilities. Elite and everyday players will now train and play at the same ground.

UPDATE ON THE PROJECT

In August 2019 we achieved our goal and opened our new clubrooms and artificial turf. This included re-badging the club to the Fremantle Cockburn Hockey Club (FCHC). Our clubrooms and turf are known as The Nest, home of the Magpies, and have quickly become the home for hockey in Fremantle and Cockburn.

While our original goal has been achieved, we still have a lot of plans and projects that will make The Nest even better. These plans will ensure that the facility will meet the community needs well into the future.

Financial support will be used to provide additional facilities including comfortable seating for spectators, tables, outdoor heating, additional fencing to keep balls in the grounds and funds to maintain the turf.

The club members sincerely thank all who have donated and would love for you to come and enjoy their facility.

All donations (over $2) to the ASF are fully tax deductible and are spent on the facility. Your way of giving back to the community in a tangible way.
