Hello, my name is George and I am currently an Australian representative in the sport of sabre fencing (yes, the sport with the swords but no, it's not really like the movies haha)

I have spent the past 2 years working full time whilst travelling and training with some of the worlds best coaches and athletes in the US & across Europe. This meant that I would train a full schedule during the day, have a short nap before signing in and working in the evenings (Australian hours) hoping to secure a bit of extra sleep before I had to be back at training again.

I am currently looking for some support as I am about to travel to my first major event this year, Asian Championships in Wuxi, China. Asian Championships is a very important event for me as it allows me to secure international ranking points which will subsequently allow me to have an easier pouling round in my future international competitions.

Asian Championships is forecasted to cost me approximately $4,000 with World Championships less than a month later in Italy. To give you a quick cost breakdown, an average tour composes of the following:

• Airfare & Visas
• Accomodation & Transfers
• New equipment (includes replacing broken blades & electrics)
• Australian Fencing Federation fees & Coaching fees.
• Competition fees & Levis

$6000 is only the tip of the iceberg however the support will give me a massive boost as I go to tackle the circuit head on.

I am majorly driven not only to be an athlete but to also develop Australian athletes, I'm currently coaching and looking to bring my experience back to train the new generation of athletes after me.
