Gladesville Hornsby Football Association (GHFA) is a not for profit sports association that provides a range of football activities and competitions to approximately 300,000 residents in the north-west area of Sydney, running from Gladesville to the Hawkesbury River in the north. Spirit FC is the representative football program run by the GHFA. The GHFA Spirit FC teams play in the NSW National Premier League competitions in First Grade, Under 20 and Under 18 competitions, and Under 13s to Under 16s. Football NSW’s Skill Acquisition Program (SAP U9s to U12s) is a pathway program for talented young players to develop skills. GHFA Spirit place a high priority on the SAP as it is the window in a young player's development where the fundamental football skills are embedded and carried forward for the rest of their football life.
