Fundraising Goal: $200,000
We have established the Glenorchy Magpies Foundation to support the important on and off field work of the Club. The four key pillars of the Glenorchy Magpies are:
The Glenorchy Magpies Foundation’s initial project will be the finalisation and enhancement of the new clubrooms, function centre, café, and administration facility at KGV Oval. Our new home will be the most contemporary, largest community sport and recreation facility and precinct in Tasmania.
The integrated facility, supported by the Glenorchy Magpies Foundation, will also be home to new co-tenants Revive Health and the Migrant Resource Centre, and long standing tenants the Glenorchy Cricket Club. The Glenorchy Magpies strongly believe in connecting with the community, and will be seeking to partner with its co-tenants the Migrant Resource Centre and Revive Allied Health to include health and wellbeing, education, and social inclusion programs in its offerings.
The finalisation and enhancement of the new facility at KGV will be a significant event in the club’s history, the beginning of an exciting new era for our club. We are calling on all Glenorchy Magpies members and supporters to be a part of this special opportunity. After all, our history is only as good as the people who help make it.
For almost 100 years the Glenorchy District Football Club has proudly represented Glenorchy in the highest level competition in Tasmania. In recent years we have enjoyed strong on-field results and consistent finals appearances by competing hard for our loyal members and supporters.
Outside of football, we are proud and active community members, continuously looking for ways to positively impact the lives of those in our community, through football and other club activities. We use the game we love and the resources we have to deliver positive and healthy messages and provide activities for our community.
Our new facility will enable us to put the team in the best position to achieve sustained success and to continue to contribute to the community in a meaningful way.
