About the project

A new initiative seeks to increase the accessibility to football for all ages and levels of ability. The Accessible Football Program has been offering players of all abilities a safe, fun structured environment to enjoy the game.

The program is a joint initiative between Jay Hoy, Rob Morris & Michael Thwaite

According to Rob Morris, “the opportunity to create a free program that gives everyone the chance to experience the world game is a great thing.”

“I was really excited about the idea when Jay spoke to me about putting together a football program for people of all abilities.”

The program will run monthly out of United’s new headquarters, Coplicks Family Sports Park in Tallebudgera and will be co-ordinated by Jay along with a dedicated bunch of highly accredited local volunteer coaches including former Socceroo Michael Thwaite.

Jay’s hopes for the program are simple.

“All we want is for the participants to be happy and excited to come to the next session.”

With all of the coaches and those involved volunteering their time, the program will be free for participants but the organisers are keen to talk with any local businesses who may be interested to offer some financial support to help cover the cost of playing strips. And through the club's fundraising partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation, donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. So please show your support by donating today!

If you’d like to get involved contact Rob Morris robm@goldcoastunitedfc.com.au

The program kicks-off Sunday the 2nd of June from 9am to 10am.

Great initiative for inclusion in sport, more people should get behind programs like this. To provide awards and a presentation night to those who may have never experienced this and bring people together through sport is a great concept!
