Olympic Gold is my goal.

I'm a 19 yr old full time athlete, who has chosen a path that only rewards success.

The Olympics pathway is brutal and I feel incredibly privlileged to have qualified to represent Australia at the Olympic Test event in Marseille, July 2023.

Australia has not sent a male athlete in windsurfing since the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. That was 20 years ago.

The best and only way to achieve my goals for my country and myself is to train and compete full time. It takes a village to be a contender and I have the physical and mental support, but there is no denying that funding is a critical factor for success.

I need your financial help and support, and welcome you to be part of the dream.

With an unwavering dedication to windsurfing, I will continue to push my boundaries, all driven by my deep-rooted love for the sport. My journey has been shaped by early exposure to windsurfing, the discipline instilled by rugby, and the experiences gained from competing at national and international levels. By pursuing my Olympic dreams, I hope to serve as an inspiration to aspiring windsurfers, by embodying the spirit of passion, perserverance and pursuit of excellence.

The Journey:

I've competed in 6 different classes of windsurfing since 11 years old. I have always been sport driven for as long as I can remember and knew that a career in competitive sport was the path for me.

Windsurfing - Formula and Slalom:

From the age of only 3 months, I accompanied my father to all his national and international windsurfing events. It wasn't long before I found myself on my own windsurfing board and at age eleven, began following in his steps, competing in Formula and Slalom events all across Australia. Throughout the summer season I competed often, honing my skills and fueling my passion for the sport. My downtime always found me on the water. During winter I would play rugby, making training part of my everyday life. Rugby and training became an integral part of my life, teaching me valuable lessons in teamwork, self-motivation, resilience and determination. I always pushed myself and I enjoyed it.

Rugby:

Having played competitive rugby from the age of 6, I excelled in the sport, making it to the top teams for club and school, ultimately playing in the 1st XV for my final year at Cranbrook in the CAS competition. At the age of 18, I faced the pivotal moment where I had to choose between pursuing high level rugby or my ultimate passion - windsurfing. The decision was clear, windsurfing won. Nevertheless, the discipline and work ethic instilled by rugby contnues to shape my training pursuits.

Bic Techno:

In 2018, I partcicipated in my first international windsurfing event, the Bic Techno Competition at the World Championships in Latvia, where I secured a respectable 39th place. The following year, at the Bic Techno World Championships in Portugal, I placed 3rd and then in 2020 I achieved 1st position at the Bic Techno National Championships. I competed on the Bic Techno nationally and internationally for 5 years from 2015-2020, thus cementing my passion for racing and igniting my Olympic aspirations.

RSX:

March 2019 marked a significant turning point in my journey. After competing in the inaugural Wind Foiling competition in New Zealand - where I placed 6th amongst a fleet of some of the top Windsurfers in the world - I was invited to train with the Dutch Olympic Team on the Senior RSX kit in Auckland. This opportunity, at only age 16 years old, allowed me to travel to Europe to compete in multiple RSX regattas and interact with the worlds best windsurfers. Although the RSX board presented a formidable challenge, I embraced it as an opportunity for personal growth and further hone my skills amongst such a large and challenging fleet.

Raceboards:

I've competed in multiple Raceboard events since I was 15 and ended up winning the Open State Championship in 2018, following this with 3rd place in the 2019 RaceBoard National Championships. 2020 saw me take the title of Senior National Champion. The raceboard presented a unique challenge, requiring strategic sailing. It never seemed to reach a high top speed and the majority of the sailing utilized the daggerboard in various conditions. I had the great privilege of battling it out with seasoned windsurfers, including my own father. He and I also collaborated with a sail maker to design our own raceboard sail, which helped me achieve an extraordinary feat of winning every race in an 18 race national regatta - also known as a picket fence.
