The Greensborough Hockey Club is thrilled to launch its inaugural Indigenous Round this season, with the aim of recognizing and celebrating the Indigenous history of the club and the wider community. The club is preparing to host a landmark event in Burra's calendar, highly anticipated, celebrated, and supported by players, members, and families in our community.

Donations will aid in organizing and celebrating this event on a grander scale, enabling the club to expand its activities and create more significant happenings throughout the round. The club is currently organizing specialty Indigenous kits for its premier league and reserves teams to wear during their matches in the round. They also plan to expand this kit to the junior section of the club, broadening their celebration of NAIDOC week and fostering participation, excitement, and education among junior players.

To make this event even more special, the club plans to include various activities such as raising the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flag, a Welcome to Country ceremony, a Smoke Ceremony, Indigenous Dancers/performers, and an auction for local Indigenous artwork.
