Installation of behind the goals netting

Installation of behind the goals netting

We are fundraising to install netting behind our goals at one end of our ground. As shown in the aerial photograph there are two issues associated with our current conditions:

The first being that the netball courts are basically directly behind the goals, and errant balls kicked there pose a serious risk of injury to not only the netball players, but to spectators. As players and spectators are concentrating on the game, being hit on the head with a football when not expecting it could cause a serious injury.

The second issue is that residences nearby have their backyards in the near vicinity of the ground which: (a) poses an injury risk to those in the backyards (similar to the netball scenario), and (b) with balls intruding into the backyards the residents have become upset and are reluctant to return the footballs, which imposes a significant cost to us in regularly having to purchase new footballs.
