Harding Wilmot Sailing Towards LA 2028 Olympics and Beyond

We are 2 young female athletes in the Australian Sailing Team with the goal to represent and secure a medal at the Olympic Games in the 49erFX class for Australia. Prior to teaming up at the beginning of 2021, Annie secured many female national championships in the 29er class and won the Youth World Championships in 2016. Laura also brings female national championship titles in the 420 class and and became Junior World Champion in 2018. We are very driven athletes and also wish to be role models for young girls and women to pursue and excel in the sport of Sailing. Most recently achieving 5th at the World Championships and 6th at the European Championships in 2024.

With the highest quality racing occurring internationally throughout the European racing season in the 49erFX class, we are required to travel overseas for extended periods of time to be able to compete in large fleets at a high standard. Along with the large costs of replacing and renewing racing level equipment to also be able to compete at the level required to achieve our goals.

We spend around 5-6 months of the year competing and training internationally. The time in Australia we use for training camps and domestic regattas to prepare us with the upcoming season. The Olympic cycle for 2028 will include lots of international travel, a new racing hull and new racing equipment in order to push our limits on the international circuit.

We appreciate all of the support from our current team and followers and we welcome you to become a crucial part of our journey to the 2028 Olympics and ultimately towards an Olympic Gold medal.
