Visit websiteThe 2023 International Children’s Games are being held in Daegu, South Korea from 5th July to 10th July, 2023 and Lake Macquarie City Council in partnership with the Hunter Academy of Sport are pleased to announce that we will be sending Team Lake Macquarie to the Games.
The International Children’s Games (ICG) is a recognized member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and is the largest multi-sport youth games in the world, delivering a unique sports and cultural experience for young people.
As you will appreciate, being part of Team Lake Macquarie provides a tremendous sporting and cultural opportunity for local Lake Macquarie athletes ages 13-16 years, however does place some financial strain on the families involved. The Hunter Academy of Sport is responsible for team management, which includes travel arrangements, uniform, and equipment supply, for which we utilise local suppliers and agents.
Team Lake Macquarie will be represented by the following:
Head of Delegation – Bianca Smith (Hunter Academy of Sport)
City Representative – Cr Jack Antcliffe
Head Coach Swimming – Ben Jenkinson
Swim Squad - Amelia Zaska-Bush, April Maloy, Evie Lucas, Sophie Hamilton, Jett Jenkinson, Cameron Waite, Hamish Ihle, Aleksander Gillon
Head Coach Athletics – Tara Angell
Athletics Squad - Keira Carlson, Addison Bass, Marli Brunckhorst, Tahlia Smith, Lacy Barnes, Xavier Orchard, Thomas Cashion
We would very much appreciate your support in supplementing team expenditures prior to the team’s departure in July. Any contribution will aid these local athletes and their families in subsidising the cost of travel, uniforms and registration fees.
