Come on Canberra! Help get behind our five (5) ACT world athletes for the upcoming WBSC World Cup from November 26 - 4 December 2022 in New Zealand.
The team includes several athletes with WBSC World Cup experience at the Open Men’s level, jointly led by 2009 World Champion Adam Folkard (Hurricanes Softball Club) returning for his 6th WBSC World Cup.
The team also includes WBSC Open Mens World Cup Matt Harrow as well as Jay Selu and Josh McGovern from ACT's Woden Giants, and Josh White from Tuggeranong Storm.
The Aussie Steelers are the pinnacle of men’s Softball in Australia, and this Steelers team is littered with familiar names in the sport. Coach, Laing Harrow is excited about the energy the new players will bring during the tournament. "The Steelers have a proud tradition of success, I’m confident we have assembled a team that will figure in the late stages of the World Cup.”
Softball Australia CEO Rosie Williams OBE was stated as saying “We can’t wait to see our athletes perform against the world’s best, and we will be cheering you on from across the Tasman as you chase our second World Cup gold medal.”
Canberra's softball community hopes to raise enough money to help pay their travel expenses to get them over to New Zealand.
Every donation is tax deductible, and contributions will go to each of the four players to help them reach their individual goal. If for some reason, our fundraising exceeds each individual's target, the balance will be donated to Softball ACT to assist other players representing ACT in upcoming National events.
Every dollar helps and we need Canberra to get behind our world athletes!
Please donate! It will make a WORLD of difference to our ACT World athletes!
