Hi, my name is Isla Watson, a 19 yr old Australian Triathlete living in Brisbane, QLD. I compete in short course triathlon and would love it if you could support me on my journey to achieving my dream of becoming an Olympian!

I started out as a competitive swimmer racing 100/200 fly before making the switch to go all in on triathlon in 2022, with the help of the National Talent Transfer Program I was recruited into by the Victorian Institute of Sport.

In 2023 I raced my first international Elite Continental Cups in Asia achieving a top 5 and top 10 finish. In 2024 I placed 2nd at the Oceania Junior Triathlon Championships, qualifying me for the Junior World Championships. I achieved a podium finish in a Junior European Cup and 13th in my first Elite European Cup as one of the youngest in the field. At Junior Worlds I was the first Australian across the line.

To achieve my goal of representing Australia at the 2032 Olympic I will need to race in competitive fields, gain more experience, and work towards worlds best standards. This will not only require a lot of training but also travel to training camps and competitions in both Australia and overseas. A lot of this at my own expense.

I am a student, studying a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. I work as a Learn to Swim Instructor and Squad Swimming Coach.

The costs of elite sport are very extensive, the expenses for travelling interstate and internationally for competitions and training camps, entry fees for races, annual memberships, coaching fees, venue entry, equipment and much more add up very fast.
