A bit about me:

My name is Jaidah, I am 16 years old and I train at Forza Taekwondo, Canberra.

I started taekwondo when I was 7 years old and fell in love with the sport right away. I found inspiration in the older athletes and was fascinated by the Olympic sparring side of Taekwondo. I had my very first fight at the age of 8, and have been competing nationally and internationally ever since.

I am committed to training and currently train six days a week, both in the morning and at night, to improve my technique, fitness, speed, and strength. Training consistently each day has never been a chore, as I truly love what I do. I am also part of the Australian Taekwondo Performance Pathways Program.  

I have had some success in international competitions in the past 12 months including:

Being part of the Australian National Team has been a goal of mine since I was a little girl. Making it onto the 2024 team is really a dream come true. My ultimate goal in my taekwondo career is going to the 2032 Brisbane Olympics and winning gold there. I'm so excited to continue pushing myself and chasing after my dreams in taekwondo.

It has been personally rewarding to see my hard work pay off. I could not have done it without the support from my family and taekwondo family at FORZA. This includes other athletes, coaches and especially our Head Instructor John Masiello.

I am so excited and thrilled to start this amazing 2024 World Taekwondo Junior Championships journey. Sadly, it does not come with any funding. That is why your help means so much to me and would be really appreciated!

How will your donation help me?

Your donation will help me cover costs for my flights, accommodation, competition fees and the Australian uniform for:

• the 2024 World Taekwondo Junior Championships in Chuncheon, Korea
• lead up competitions and training camps
