At just 19 years of age, James is already an accomplished racing driver with over eight years of experience. He began his motorsport journey in 2017 in the Cadet 12 category, quickly demonstrating natural talent and a competitive edge. Remarkably, in only his fourth race—while still on his provisional licence—James secured his first podium finish, competing against some of the most established drivers in his class.

In 2023, James became a consistent front-runner in the Hyundai Excel Series, using that season as a foundation to prepare for his step up into the highly competitive Toyota GR86 Cup in 2024.

In 2024, his rookie season in the GR86 Cup was nothing short of exceptional, achieving:

  • 9 podium finishes
  • 4 race wins
  • 3 lap records across 5 circuits
  • Rookie of the Year
  • The Kaizen Award
  • Runner-up in the overall championship

His performance is widely regarded as the most successful rookie campaign in the history of the championship.

This year, James is racing with leading team Ashley Seward Motorsport and has firmly set his sights on winning the GR86 Cup title. Additionally, he will be competing in the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia, again under the ASM banner. This series presents a vital opportunity for James to further refine his skills against the nation’s best talent and pursue opportunities to race on the international stage.

James’ racing résumé already includes standout results, such as:

  • 1st place – SpeedSeries at Sydney Motorsport Park (Hyundai Excel Series)
  • 2nd place – Townsville 500 (GR86 Cup)
  • 1st place – Bathurst 1000 (GR86 Cup)
  • 1st place – Gold Coast 500 (GR86 Cup)

These achievements underscore not only his driving ability but also his consistency and determination to succeed at the highest level.

James has also proven himself against elite competition. The GR86 Cup is a national-level development series often used as a launching pad into Supercars, with past competitors including Will Brown and Broc Feeney. Achieving podium finishes in his very first race is a rare feat, underscoring James’ extraordinary potential.

Internationally, James has competed in the prestigious WSK Euro Series, racing against some of the world’s top young talents—including current Formula 1 driver Kimi Antonelli and numerous rising stars in Formula 2 and other junior formulas. These experiences have helped shape James into a versatile and resilient driver with a deep understanding of the demands of professional motorsport.

James’ journey is fuelled by passion, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to improvement. His goal is clear: to become a professional GT driver, and the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge is a crucial step on that path.

However, the financial demands of motorsport are significant. With your support, James can continue his development, gain further exposure, and progress through the ranks toward a professional career.

Your partnership would play a pivotal role in helping a promising young athlete achieve his full potential on the global stage.
