Our Fire Foundation is focused on one thing, making a positive difference in our community.

Over the past 20 years we have strived to make a positive impact on youths in our region. The Townsville Fire are committed to making the biggest impact possible within the North Queensland community through aligning our players' passions with our community work, fostering relationships with community partners, and creating programs that help lead positive change.

We are able to do this and deliver these incredible programs with the assistance of the QLD government, our sponsors, philanthropic organisations and of course the wonderful communities we represent. Being the only professional female sporting team in Northern Australia is something we are very proud of and we make it our mission to provide positive healthy female role models across this great state.

Our Fire Academy's are where we start to produce and educate the younger generation of basketballs to became positive healthy females both on and off the court.

These program are designed for Elite junior players aged 12 - 17 years old who show a real future in our game. Players are hand selected by the Coaching staff at JCU Townsville Fire.

Academy participants train throughout the WNBL season in Weekly session with a Fire Coach and WNBL players to improve their basketball skills.

The Girls also receive expert advise on life skills off the court such as:

• Bank accounts & Health funds
• Nutrition
• Injury prevention & Strength and Conditioning
• Tours & Future Study opportunities at James Cook University
• Team building & and so much more throughout the program.

Our Academy Programs have had huge success with many players going on and fulfilling their dream to becoming a professional athlete and playing in the WNBL.
