My name is Jessica Johnston and I am seeking support through donations to help fund my first international competition – as a member of the Australian team competing at this year’s Oceania Athletics Championships.

I have an incredibly busy schedule as I am a dual sport athlete – currently mid Netball season with the Ryde Hawks Premier League team. With training or competition across 2 sports every day of the week, this leaves little time for study, fundraising or work, so any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a passion for throwing and I have been selected to compete in the U18 Discus at these championships. At the recent Australian Athletics Championships, I placed 7^th in the Open competition while securing the Silver medal in U18’s. I love to compete in all 4 throwing events, medalling at recent NSW Athletics Championships in Discus, Hammer, Javelin and Shot Put.

I have loved competing for Ryde Athletics for over a decade and have always been extremely grateful for their support over the years. I also compete for Loreto Kirribilli in several sports and currently hold several of their Athletics records. I was honoured to receive Ryde Sports Foundation’s Athlete of the Year award last year, up against an amazing array of talented athletes. 

I am currently ranked #13 in the world for U18 Discus and it is my goal to achieve a top 10 spot during these championships. It will be an amazing experience wearing the Green and Gold and I am both excited and honoured by the opportunity.

All money raised goes towards paying the Competition levy, only a small part of the total cost involved in this campaign.
