The Jindabyne Cycling Club (JCC) commenced a calendar of mountain bike events in 2023 with great success. This included a series of gravity enduro style mountain bike races and a kids specific event for primary age children. 

In 2024 we plan to hold those same events again, and to add to them with a further children’s event and a series of cross-country mountain bike races. We are requesting support for promotional materials to give our events broader appeal to potential participants and a more professional appearance, and to assist with the general operating costs associated with hosting the events, e.g. trail maintenance, course bunting, event signage, portable toilet hire, shuttle vehicle hire, specialist timing equipment licences and first aid support.

The objectives of JCC’s MTB events calendar are to:

• Encourage Snowy Mountain residents, particularly youth, to become physically active and involved in the local cycling community. 

• The increasingly popular ‘gravity enduro’ events will help engage and encourage local children and youth to participate in other mountain bike racing formats and cycling disciplines, with a particular focus on improving female participation in the sport of cycling. 

• Attract visitors from neighbouring regions and other cycling clubs to Jindabyne, as a part of positioning the town and Snowy Mountains region as the pre-eminent cycling destination in New South Wales.

• Raise funds for the ongoing maintenance of mountain bike trails, under the Jindabyne Trail Stewardship custodianship, on which the events are run.

Any donation over $2 through the Australian Sports Foundation is tax deductible so it is a great way to directly support the club achieve its objectives.
