Josiah John is Western Australia's fastest athlete at the age of 17. It is now time for Josiah to compete regularly against the best in Australia at the major Australian Athletics meetings.

Thanks to an incredibly generous donation from a WA philanthropist with strong links to the Stawell Gift and a desire to see a continued WA participation in this historic event; Josiah's season has been launched.

Josiah's 2024/25 season is evolving with each day having recently been invited to compete in the inaugural Australian Short Track Athletics Championships to be held in Sydney (1st February).

The season will also include the Perth Track Classic (1st March); WA State Championships; the Australian Athletics Championships to be held in Perth (10th-13th April); with the season concluding at the historic Stawell Easter Gift.

The Stawell Gift in the small Victorian country town is the longest running and most historic athletics race in Australia. Many young athletes have launched international careers from this event including WA's own Dean Capobianco.

The tyranny of distance should not prevent Josiah from fulfilling his untapped potential. Help WA's best to get even better.

Funds raised will be put towards travel and accommodation on the circuit this year. Excess funds will then take Josiah further afield to compete outside Australia.
