Hi Everyone,

My name is Glen, proud father of 12 year old Townsville local, Kaiden. During a recent football holiday camp Kaiden was selected amongst hundreds of participants in Brisbane, Canberra and Adelaide over 3 weeks to travel to Barcelona and train under some of the worlds best coaches. Now we need to fund it so that Kaiden does not miss out on this amazing opportunity to train on the same grounds as his idol - Messi.

They will still have some down time and some leisure activities in between where they will make lifelong friendships with a variety of other children of the same age and sharing the same passion.

This experience will continue to drive the passion Kaiden has to become a professional football player while putting him under the noses of top class coaches.

An opportunity like this doesn't come along everyday for a local Townsville boy and we would love it if the community could get behind him and support him on this journey.

The cost for Kaiden and 1 adult (compulsary) to go to the camp including flights is around $15k (infact $14,726 at todays exchange rate), seeking some help to raise some funds towards the cost so that Kaiden can go on this once in a lifetime experience.

Unfortunately the Barca Academy was not able to reduce the price or offer a part sponsorship deal to reduce the costs of the trip. We will be asking around his local club and reaching out to others for fundraising opportunities as well.

I started a gofundme page (and I have reduced the target on this one by the amount received to date via GFM). I will continue to monitor and adjust targets if other fundraising opportunities arise.

This platform ensures that all donations are tax deductible so that businesses can donate knowing that they will be able to claim the costs at a deduction later.

Backstory...

While trolling Instagram one day Kaiden came across a holiday camp in Brisbane hosted by the Barca Academy - we were supposed to goto Gold Coast late September 2023 for Premier Invitational Tournament and celebrate Kaidens birthday with family that we had not seen since before covid, but someone decided he wanted break his wrist at training 2 weeks out from that tournament, we had to cancel. So to make up for this lost trip I decided we could go to Brisbane and catch up with the family and he could do his Barca Holiday Camp giving the wife and I a bit of holiday at the same time.

Any help to get Kaiden there would be awesome. I know there are people in desperate times and have needs but if you can't help yourself, maybe you can share this post in the hope someone that can, will?
