Our original plans for a major revamp of the changerooms and toilets included getting a government grant to assist us with increasing usage by school and community groups. Our submissions thus far have been unsuccessful and we have been forced to re-focus our efforts on more modest upgrading of the toilets and changerooms, and focusing on what is now urgent guttering and roofing repair.

Background

New guttering and roofing repairs are our immediate focus, highlighted by recent rains. This focus will ensure long term longevity of the building.

Changerooms and toilets.

The current toilets were constructed in the 1950s and the changeroom area was last improved in the mid 1980s. The area is increasingly difficult to clean and maintain.

With increasing community participation from schools, scouts and kayakers a higher standard is expected and required.

Providing updated facilities will attract more female participation as well as being more inclusive for all members of the community through providing updated shower and change cubicles.

Immediate Plans will now change to painting and upgraded privacy. Access issues will not be addressed at this stage.
