Thirteen years after competing at my fourth World Skipping Championships, I am back for my fifth and final crack on the World stage. I have qualified in four individual and one team event, and funds raised will contribute to travel and accommodation expenses, as well as the competition entry fee and uniform costs. It's an honour to be able to represent Australia again and I am grateful for any support I am given through this page.

As a four-time team World Champion, previous World Record Holder (4x45" Double Dutch Speed Relay) and Individual Freestyle World Champion, I know what it takes to compete at the highest level in this sport and I am loving applying myself to the challenge. Qualifying for my fifth World Championships has been such a surreal experience so far and I am so excited to be training at a high level again, especially after working in High Performance Sport with some of Australia's best Olympic and Paralympic athletes over the past 10 years.

The events I have qualified for are:

  • Consecutive triple unders (as many as you can do in a row before exhaustion or a mistake)
  • Individual freestyle (like the floor routine in gymnastics, but better hehe. Choreographed to music, scored on difficulty and presentation, goes for 75 sec)
  • 30 second speed (as fast as you can go doing the alternating jogging step on the spot - counted as number of times right foot hits the ground in 30 seconds)
  • 3 min speed (as above... but for 3 very long minutes!)
  • 2 x 30 sec double under relay (similar concept to speed but the goal is as many double unders as possible in 30 sec + the amount your pair partner does)

To make this story even more special, my first ever international competition at the age of 9yo was the Pan American Championships, held in Colorado. Returning to Colorado 22 years later to round off my competitive career will be such a special experience, and something 9yo me would be proud of.

If you've never heard of competitive skipping, here are a few links to keep you entertained for a little while :)
