Hi we are fundraising for our son Leo who has qualified to represent Australia at the upcoming (October 2024) WTF World Junior taekwondo championships in Chunchon, South Korea. As a student athlete this trip is self funded by the athlete and their family. In order for Leo to travel the costs are estimated to be AU$3000-$4000. To secure Leo’s place we need to pay $3000 asap. This is the first time Leo has made the Australian team and the last time he gets the opportunity as a junior. Leo first got into Taekwondo to build his confidence after being bullied in primary school. Leo has developed so much over the years and grown a lot thank you to this sport. He found role models he looked up to that gave him the inspiration to reach for the goal of representing Australia. After nearly 9 years since first starting he’s finally made it and we are so proud of him. It’s not easy in an individual sport to fund all of the travel you need to so that you can gain the experience and achieve success. Leo is very focused on training hard and doing the best he can in Chuncheon. He has just under 3 months before the comp.
