A LIFE-CHANGING OPPORTUNITY

Sailing has taught us that success is not just about skill and determination—it is also about community support. We have spent years dedicating ourselves to the sport, and now we are asking for your help to take our passion to the next level. This isn't just about us—it is about inspiring and empowering other young girls to chase their dreams, no matter how big they seem.

In 2025, we have an incredible project to compete in two of the world's most prestigious international sailing events: Kiel Sailing Week in Germany (June 2025) and the 29er European Championship in Riva del Garda, Italy (July 2025). While this dream is within reach, the costs involved are significant, especially living down under the other side of the world. We balance studies, part-time jobs, and intensive training while saving up for this fantastic opportunity. 

BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP

The total investment for our participation in both events is $17,640, and we are calling on your support to help cover HALF of this international sailing campaign. While we will cover flights, accommodation, and travel expenses, your generous donations will help us with critical costs for both international competitions. A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT US

We are Ona (2005) and Lia (2008), born in Barcelona and moved to Perth at a young age. Since we were 7 years old, we developed a deep passion for sailing. This sport has shaped us into who we are today.

Ona’s Achievements

• 10 years of sailing experience competing in national and international sailing events, with some excellent results.
• 2nd place at the 2024 29er WA Youth Sail in Perth, Australia.
• 2nd place at the 2024 29er WA States Championship in Perth, Australia.
• 1st place in the mixed crew category at the 2023 29er Australian Nationals in Lake Macquarie, NSW.
• 3rd place in the 2023 29er WA State Championship in Perth, Australia.
• Selected for the 2023 Australian Sailing Youth Team.
• 2023 Australian Sailing Pre-emerging program.
• 2022 29er World Championships in Barcelona, Spain.
• 2022 29er Victorian Youth States in Melbourne, Australia.
• 2nd place at the 2021 29er WA States Championships in Perth, Australia.
• 2020 29er Spanish Nationals in Valencia, Spain.
• 2019 Optimist Hong Kong Nationals, China.
• 2019 Australian Optimist Girls Squad.
• Completed the first year of the Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Notre Dame Australia.
• Member of Notre Dame’s Elite Athlete Program.
• Works part-time as a coach at Fremantle Sailing Club, Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club, and South Perth Sailing Club.

Lia’s Achievements

• 6 years of sailing experience, with notable results in Optimist and 29er classes, competing in national and international events.
• 2nd place, 2024 29er WA Youth Sail in Perth, Australia.
• 2024 29er Australian Nationals in Perth, Australia.
• 2023 Open Skiff Australian Nationals in Perth, Australia.
• 2022 Optimist Victorian Youth States in Melbourne, Australia.
• 2020 Catalonia Optimist States at l'Escala, Spain.
• Awarded the 2024 City of Melville Sports Scholarship in recognition of Lia's dedication and commitment to sailing.
• 2022, Sailed Optimist dinghy from Fremantle to Rottnest, Perth, Australia.
• Completed Year 10 at Applecross Senior High School.
• Works casually as a sailing instructor at Perth Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club.
