Liam's Boxing Journey
Liam's Boxing Journey

Your donation is supporting Liam McKenzie
I am Liam McKenzie, a 21 year old amateur boxer from Kingston Boxing Club, Tasmania. I started boxing at the age of 11 and at time of writing have 44 total fights, 42 amateur and 2 professional.
As a part of the Australian Amateur Boxing League, I am both a junior and senior Australian Champion. In 2023, I traveled to Wishaw in Scotland to compete where I was successful.
Since joining Boxing Australia in 2024, I became a silver medalist at Nationals (due to a cut sustained from a head clash in the semi-finals, i was unable to compete for gold). I have since been selected as a High Performance Athlete where I traveled to the Dominican Republic on February 21st to represent Australia in the Independence Cup, returning home with a bronze medal.
On April 7th I will fly to Helsinki, Finland to compete in the Gee-Bee Tournament taking place from April 10th to 13th. Following that, I will continue my travels to Brussels, Belgium for an international training camp before flying to my final destination of the European Tour in Kaunas, Lithuania. This last portion of the tour is the Algirdas Socikas Tournament, which is held from the 24th of April to the 26th.
Many other international trips await me this year, along with interstate travel for training camps and competition including the opportunity to fight to represent Australia at the World Championships this September in London.
Being an Elite boxer while also living and training in Tasmania means that i have to travel a lot (and further) than most for fights and training camps which is an added expense. Training camps such as High Performance or Development camps at the Australian Institute of Sport are a vital part of my improvement as an athlete.
This is why i hope you all can support me on my journey from Tasmania to the World!
All support, big or small, is greatly appreciated and goes a long way to helping me achieve my lifelong goals.
