I have been skating since I was eight and have been lucky enough to represent Australia at three world championships 2018, 2019 and 2022 (majority funded by my family).
Following on from the 2022 World Championships where I finished 10th, my current World Skate ranking is 14th which puts me on track to qualify for Paris. With the Olympic adjustment for Country quota my ranking adjusts to 10th. The 2024 Paris Olympics competition will be between the top 20 ranked female street skaters in the world.
Unfortunately, Skate Australia Olympic Skateboarding Program is not fully funded and I have significant costs to cover. This includes travel to the upcoming qualifying events in Italy, Switzerland and Japan in 2023. Then returning to Sharjah in January 2024 for the 2023 World Skate Street World Championships.
I supplement my costs in between my training and studying online for Certificate 4 in personal training by working mornings at a local café & coaching at School of Skate (local indoor skate park).
Unfortunately, my sport was not so kind when in 2020 I suffered two significant injuries (broken left humerus in two places, requiring multiple surgeries and seven months off my board, followed by multiple right ankle ligament damage and three months off my board. I’m proud that I showed strength of character to manage these injuries, skate and secure 3rd place at the Oceania Championships and 4th place at the National Championships, skating both contests with my broken arm. These injuries impacted on my bid to qualify for Tokyo 2020, however, with hard work, dedication and commitment I am again in a competitive position to qualify for the Olympics.
Ultimately, I’d like to represent Australia at the Olympics and to be the best skateboarder I can. It would be awesome to represent my country in Paris 2024.
