My name is Lleyton Lloyd and I am an elite track and field para athlete. I have an intellectual disability which means my classification is T/F20. This year I have been selected to represent Australia in the 100m, 200m, Long Jump and relays at the Virtus Global Games in France.

The Virtus Global Games is the world’s largest elite sports event for athletes with an intellectual disability. In 2023 the games are being held in Vichy, France from 2-12th of June. These games are held every four years, in the year prior to the Paralympic games, and gives me the opportunity to compete against the best athletes with intellectual disabilities in the world.

I have worked very hard to earn my selection in this team. As I live in rural NSW, I am required to travel a 3 hour round trip 3 times a week for training, which can be very challenging, however, being selected in teams like this makes it all worthwhile.

I really appreciate any support that I may receive in my quest to represent my country in this prestigious event.
