Maribyrnong Park Football Club (Marby Lions) established this fund raising appeal in 2020 to mark our 40th year of grassroots community Australian Rules Football. At the time, the club's finances had taken a significant hit from the cancellation of the 2020 football season due to the coronavirus pandemic. We had already incurred significant costs preparing for the 2020 football season and had no revenue coming in for the rest of the year to pay for these costs.

Since resuming community football in 2021, our finances have recovered to a level at which we can sustain and grow our football program. As a result, our fundraising is now focused on specific capital spending rather than ongoing operational spending.

In 2023, we successfully raised $25,000 to purchase a new electronic scoreboard for Walsh Oval, our second oval. This electronic scoreboard will be similar to what we have on Monk Oval, our primary oval, but will be slightly smaller.

We still need to raise another $15,000 to fund the regulatory, engineering and building costs required to install the new scoreboard.

Once this project is complete, the Marby Lions Future Fund will continue funding other investments in our football program, player facilities, and supporter facilities.
