My name is Marissa, and I’m thrilled to have been given the opportunity to compete nationally and internationally in the sports I love the most, Soccer and Futsal - in the 2022 Singa Cup (November 2022) and the 2023 Futsal Nationals Victoria (January 2023).

Playing in these tournaments will give me the opportunity to better my skills, gain valuable game experience at a high level and also help promote the women’s side of the sports in WA.

These opportunities are really important as they show me how my hard work and dedication to training are starting to pay off. After long hours spent at my Futsal centre and sessions in rain and mud on the outdoor pitch.

Sport is really important to me, I’ve made many friends on my journey and have also been taught lots of very valuable life lessons.

Futsal is a small growing sport in WA and any chance to help it grow is valuable. It would be really sad if more people didn’t get to experience and play the beautiful game.
