Current 4 times World Champ Mark Mono Stewart will be representing Australia in the upcoming ISA World Adaptive Championships and next year's AAPS Tour.

After losing his right leg above the knee to Osteosarcoma in 1976 and enduring chemotherapy for the next 18 moths all he wanted to do was get back into the ocean, which he did.

Fastforward 40 years to 2015 and he would never have dreamt that he would win the first ever ISA (International Surfing Association) World Adaptive Surfing Championships at La Jolla in California.

Since then, 3 more Gold, 2 silver and a bronze have arrived back on Australian soil.

The sport of Adaptive Surfing (Parasurf) has exploded around the world and competitions are now held in Portugal, Spain, France, USA, England, Wales, Japan, Hawaii etc.

Last year the AAPS (Association Adaptive Professional Surfers) held the first ever Professional Tour with the aim of unifying the sport and making in more accessible to all athletes young and old.

He was extremely stoked to win his division (Kneel) on the Tour.

The sport is now on target to be accepted into the Paralympics in LA28. An announcement is due in December this year.

The reason he is fundraising is in February last year he was diagnosed with a stage 4 Metastasized Malignant Melanoma tumour in his lung. Luckily it has not spread anywhere else. They started him on Immunotherapy Treatment. He only received 2 treatments and in December was given the amazing news that the tumour was gone. The doctors are amazed at how quick the treatment has worked. He is feeling stronger by the day, physically and mentally.

Mark is totally financially self-funded and unfortunately, he hasn't be able to work the past year to save enough funds to attend this year's tour but is hopeful of finding enough generous people out there to help him achieve his dream of representing his country on the world stage again.

Donations will contribute to help travel costs, flights and accommodation.

Join the crew! Let’s get Mono back on the Professional Tour and to the ISA World Para Surfing World Championships!

Every dollar raised will be incredibly helpful in making this possible and greatly appreciated.
