Please support Mark Taylor in his quest to run 171km around Mont Blanc.

Ultra Trail Mont Blanc – UTMB – is a 171km run that circumnavigates Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Western Europe. With 10 major mountain climbs along the route, the course contains over 10,000m of elevation. That’s the equivalent of running up and down Mt Kosciuszko, Australia’s highest mountain at 2,228m, 4.5 times.

UTMB is the world’s most iconic ultramarathon and is the Grand Final of the “100-mile” category in the UTMB World Series, the world’s premier series of ultramarathon events. The race begins and ends in Chamonix, France and competitors also run through Italy and Switzerland as the course loops around Mont Blanc.

Almost 2,700 runners started UTMB in 2023. More than a third of those did not finish. The time limit is 46.5 hours. It is not an easy challenge.

Mark is hoping to raise $4,500 to assist with charity bib entry fees and travel costs. The charity bib is offered as part of the UTMB Cares program that is committed to the sustainability of our world through the preservation of our environment. 

The race begins on Friday, 30 August 2024. Mark will be running in the 55-59 year age category, but is a big believer in age being just a number. He is keen to show that age is not a barrier and hopes to also give back to the environment in doing so.
