Our 'Schools In' Program offers primary and secondary schools the opportunity to experience the sport of fencing by providing all the equipment needed to run an in-school incursion. Fencing is an unusual sport which is both an individual and team sport inclusive of all genders.  Fencing is a sport that can be accessible to all irrespective of physical capabilities, experience, background, social-economic status or culture with the right support. Our 'Schools In' program is about helping provide that support. Fencers-to-be exist everywhere but often don't get the chance to try it because a school has to have access to an accredited coach and the right equipment. This fundraising campaign is to enable the Marrickville Marauders Fencing Club to purchase 12 sets of equipment to travel to schools with the Club's coaches so students can try the sport in a supported and safe way. Fencing is more than a sport, students learn about choice, decision making, responsibility, awareness, persistence, balance, coordination, teamwork and resilience. Students also have a lot of fun and can go on to compete at local, state, national and international events.
